In early-August, Mid-Ohio Energy's "Member-Family Fun Day" events treated members and their families to free food, fun, and more! The co-op held an event at each of the co-op's offices (Marion on 8/1 and Kenton on 8/8). In total, the events drew a crowd of more than 600 members/family members.
The afternoon events were filled with food from four local food trucks, fun with large inflatable obstacle courses/bounce houses, and a casual environment for members to relax with friends and family.
Members also had the opportunity to meet with the co-op employees and trustees, and take in a live electric line safety demo.
The food was a highlight for many attendees, including pulled pork nachos from Moore Than Just BBQ, sandwiches (made with locally-raised pork) from Wagner Farm Pork Concessions, creative steak dishes from Steak-N-It, delicious grilled cheese from Fork in the Road, and a selection of homemade ice cream, gelato, and sorbet from Riverside Ice Cream.
Local fire departments also joined the fun and providing touch-a-truck opportunities, and standby first aid assistance for the events. Salt Rock Township Fire Department of Morral attended the event in Marion, while Kenton Fire Department attended the event in Kenton.
